Thread Sketching!

I found this really cool idea here on this blog and decided to try it. It was so easy, fast and fun!

I love how mine turned out!

1+1= 1 (better)

One frame (with a horrible print) purchased for $2 from the "big will" (Goodwill for those of you who don't know Camryn) that I've had for probably two years

+

this print (with a horrible frame) purchased for $5 at the Salvation Army where the rudest cashier ever works

It makes me feel calm and happy. It reminds me of Prince Edward Island. Is that possible? To be "reminded" of a place you've never actually been? I've been there in my imagination thanks to L.M. Montgomery. Does that count?

Matryoshka Dish Towel

I embroidered this towel for Mom while watching American Idol this week.

Close up. . . .

It's not perfect, but it's cute enough. . . .

New Year's Day Sledding

Watch this a few times over. It's funny every time. I watched it until my stomach hurt so bad from laughing I couldn't watch it again.

What a Travis.

Camryn the seamstress

Amy bought Camryn a sewing machine for Christmas. It didn't work, so she sent it back and ordered a different one. It came today. We ripped it out of the box and set it up in the basement on her own little sewing table immediately. Camryn got right to work on sewing up this new little mermaid pillow case.

I think she likes it. . . .

fresh cut grass

I love the smell of fresh cut grass.

I love the way grass feels under my feet and when i run my hand across it.

I love the way a lawn looks when it's just been cut. It's all neat and tidy and has uniform rows.

I love the way it looks when it's a little overgrown against the plantings in the edging of the yard. It's like it's an old english garden.

I love the background it makes for trees.

I even love the worn spots near the swingset that show it's used and played in.

I love grass.

It makes me happy.

In the winter, I really miss it.

I needed some happy grass.

So I planted some in some cute little pails and put them on my window sill.

I'm happy.

I have some grass.

I'm happy.

dream your beautiful dream

"Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible."

-T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia)
